Celebrating our Partner: Bamboo
The Microsoft Advertising Partner Celebration is a bi-annual event that highlights the exceptional and innovative work of our partners. This event is open to all enrolled Partner tier members worldwide and presents them with three awards.
We had the opportunity to speak with John Killeen (Senior Growth Marketing Manager) at Bamboo.
About Bamboo
Bamboo was founded by in-house marketers who were dissatisfied with their agencies’ ability to connect their marketing spend with financial outcomes for the business. Ten years later, we’ve solved that problem and are now 35 full-time employees and have managed over a billion in paid media spend. Our vision for the future is to become an institution that is trusted for being the best rather than trying to become the biggest.

Our mission is to help companies build more efficient growth programs. Our ideal client profile is technology and e-commerce brands who do over $25 million per year in revenue and want to continue growing efficiently from there. One of our core values is The Work. Much of what we do is focused on doing better quality work, which makes our people and our clients better off.
Tools of the trade
- Microsoft Advertising Editor: It’s straightforward and easy to use. It’s great for managing campaigns and carrying out bulk optimizations. I recommend using the “labels” feature which is great for easily organizing accounts at scale.
- Multimedia ads: I’ve had success with this ad type for eCom clients in particular. They’re great for using high-quality images to drive sales and are effective when paired within Dynamic Search ad campaigns, which give you the ability to automate your targeting based on page URLs.
Looking ahead
We have several new clients that haven’t run on Microsoft Advertising ads or haven’t been active recently and we’re especially excited to get them live on Performance Max campaigns!
I’m also looking forward to testing Connected TV (CTV) ads on the Microsoft Advertising Platform. I haven’t used this campaign type before, but our clients have amazing creative assets that I can’t wait to test them out on this placement.
